The disc playlist problem
When you open a Blu-ray in MakeMKV,
you see dozens of unnamed files: 00003.mpls, 00011.mpls,
00029.mpls… There is no label telling you which one is the movie. Disc publishers use
complex playlist schemes for region variants, seamless branching, and sometimes intentionally to
frustrate automated ripping.
What TheDiscDb does
Contributors who have already ripped a disc share exactly what they found — which file is the main
feature, which are extras, and what the suggested output filename is. When you look up your release
you get the full disc map and can rip the right file the first time, every time.
